After a promising and eventful Dakar 2023, Mathieu Serradori and Loïc Minaudier and the entire SRT Century Racing Factory team confirm that they will participate in the Morocco Desert Challenge 2023 in April.
For those who do not know Serradori: together with his Belgian co-pilot Fabian Lurquin, he formed the only non-factory team to secure a stage victory in the car category in the past 2 decades of the Dakar.
"In the MDC, we are competing against a group of experienced drivers," Mathieu explains. "For eight stages, in an environment that is perfect for a rally-raid, we will go for victory in full force. Navigation, driving technique and preparation of the car are all important elements here."
"The aim is to further familiarize ourselves with the new version of our Century CR6-T buggy that we started using only shortly before the Dakar," Mathieu says. "It is a real pleasure to participate in the Morocco Desert challenge. We are sure the organisers have a lot of surprises in store for us and we are ready to take on the challenge of this human and sporting adventure."
"We cannot wait to return to Morocco, its desert, its beautiful landscapes and its terrain ideal for battles between the best rally raid crews in the world," Mathieu adds.
Gert Duson, MDC organiser: "An interesting piece of news: In 2013, Mathieu Serradori made his debut in the rally-raid discipline at the first edition of our rally on Moroccan soil, (then under the name "Libya Rally in Morocco") and already reached the top spot on the podium. We are therefore proud to have this likeable champion at the start of the MDC again 10 years later."
