Just like the Dakar and other rally events, also the Morocco Desert Challenge keeps innovating. This means we says goodbye to paper and will adopt the new digital roadbooks. ERTF, the provider for the GPS Unik is switching completely to the new GPS Unik4 and this means all roadbooks will be digital. These will be used as of next year in the truck, cars & buggy's and SSV categories.
One of the main advantages of the digital roadbooks is that modifications of the opening car, can be implemented automatically by the race management. No more need to bring glue and a pair of scissors to the desert. The technology also makes using a "map man" impossible, making the rally more honest and equal for everybody.
